Job Title: Warehouse Procurement Specialist
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Payrate: $23:00
Employment Type: Full time, M-F: 7am – 3:30pm
Purpose
The Warehouse Procurement Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the overall warehouse operations, which include receiving, storing, moving, and shipping supplies, stock, materials, and assets to and from the warehouse and offices. With a focus on safety, efficiency, and customer service, this role manages the overall operation to ensure the safe and effective storage and timely distribution of goods without damage. They will develop and implement both short- and long-term warehouse planning strategies.
Scope
This position requires exceptional organizational skills, along with strong communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively in a cross-functional environment. Attention to detail and the capacity to work under time-sensitive conditions are essential. The Warehouse Procurement Specialist will collaborate closely with management and support peers responsible for warehouse functions, while also interacting with key internal customers and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly warehouse reports detailing supplies shipped and received, ensuring all damages or issues are recorded and accounted for.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records, preparing and distributing inventory reports to program leads as required.
- Monitor stock levels, ensuring proper rotation and tracking of expiration dates.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and maintain all material-handling equipment, structures, and materials.
- Review warehouse operations throughout the work process and upon completion, including conducting daily “circle checks” to ensure safe storage of products.
- Maintain security and good housekeeping practices for both the premises and stock.
- Oversee warehouse security and general upkeep, including regular equipment maintenance.
- Provide alternative solutions to system and procedural issues that may impact productivity, customer service, or health and safety.
- Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of warehouse operations strategies aimed at reducing operating costs and improving quality-control procedures.
- Represent warehouse operations at management meetings.
- Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships within the procurement team and across different units.
- Perform any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Skills
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Project management skills, including the ability to plan work within reasonable timeframes and break tasks into achievable sub-tasks.
- Proficient documentation skills, including the use of Excel and other quantitative analysis tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Logistics, Procurement, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in asset and inventory management.
