Location: Waterford
Pay: $22.00–$25.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Job Type: Full-Time
A growing company in the marine industry is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Buyer / Coordinator to support purchasing operations, inventory management, and product lifecycle coordination. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with buying, merchandising, or business analysis experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative office environment.
Responsibilities
- Analyze sales performance, inventory levels, and supplier metrics to support strategic buying decisions
- Create and manage purchase orders based on demand forecasts, sales trends, and promotional activity
- Follow up with vendors regarding order status, lead times, backorders, and delivery schedules
- Support product transitions including new and discontinued SKUs
- Collaborate with Category Managers to align purchasing with product life cycles and business goals
- Assist with vendor program tracking, pricing files, MAP/MRP policies, and related documentation
- Support product research, merchandising, and website content updates
- Assist with additional projects and operational support as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred
- 1–2 years of experience in purchasing, merchandising, buying support, or business analysis
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and nested IF formulas
- Ability to interpret sales and inventory data to support business decisions
- Experience working in eCommerce, retail, distribution, or supply chain environments preferred
- SQL knowledge is a plus
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Work Environment
This position is based in a professional office environment within the marine sales industry. The role involves significant computer use, data analysis, and communication with vendors and internal teams in a collaborative but self-directed setting.
