Kelly Services is actively recruiting for a QC Supervisor (Night Shift 6 pm – 6 am) for a Direct Hire opportunity in North Ft. Worth, TX.
Position Summary:
Responsible for the onboarding and ongoing development of Quality Control Leads and Technicians and all associated daily quality control testing. This position interacts with customers and vendors while gaining critical information as it relates to quality and services and providing leadership to the quality control organization.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.  

  • Quality Control Staffing

    • Review of timecards and time off requests

    • Hiring of new staff and discipline of current staff as needed

    • Obtaining full coverage when lab techs are out 

    • Attend daily huddles

    • Provide leadership and direction for the QC Technicians to successfully achieve work objectives, improve performance and personal skills, and continuous improvements in the processes/organization of QC personnel and equipment. Report for quality information and management review.


  • Training 

    • Execute all QC Technician new hire training and on-going annual re-training to certify all QC personnel as adequately trained qualified individuals. 

    • Train personnel on SOPs for testing, equipment setup and calibrations, and safety practices required for the position on all methods of data collection

    • Train personnel on periodic refreshers on areas that need improvement and as SOPs are revised or created.

    • Approve completed training records and submit for retention.

    • Evaluation of training for all new hires and evaluations at 30/60/90-day interval

    • Onsite field verification of QC Technician Tier promotions


  • Daily review and approval of production and quality documentation to ensure all data submitted is complete and accurate. Help expedite information to Customers and identify issues/training gaps for QC technicians.

    • Assist with RZ implementation and daily documentation review

    • Assist with QM App implementation and daily documentation review


  • Assist in Quality Assurance projects for production auditing

    • Update on current status of line equipment as it pertains to quality

    • Can rinser challenge and documentation


  • Coordinate samples for and prepare routine sensory taste panels to ensure product matches verified references.

  • Troubleshoot, setup, and calibrate lab equipment as needed. Upkeep and inventory of QC equipment and supplies.

  • Assist with the processing of raw material and finished product holds

    • Expedite testing and sampling of holds documenting results and providing appropriate data to expedite disposition by management

    • Support rework projects by production and warehouse

    • Tagging pallets after disposition


  • First response to Quality Control concerns

    • Disposition batches that are out of specification (OOS) and address any OOS areas or problematic areas.

    • Schedule will require flexibility to provide coverage on all applicable shifts.

    • Provide support to production issues impacting finished product

    • Provide live production documentation review and submissions to Customers as needed and supporting follow-up questions regarding production. Support requests of Customer representatives during production.

    • Daily yield assessment evaluations and monitoring

The individual should possess the necessary technical skills to effectively perform the essential duties and adapt to changes made in the work environment. The individual should execute the duties while maintaining a professional attitude with encouraging team work and an ethical approach. The individual needs to promote the company’s Mission Statement and demonstrate commitment to the safety and quality of the food produced. The individual needs to have a willingness to follow direction and problem solve to generate suggestions for improving the work environment. The individual must have a high school diploma or related experience and/or training.
 
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work in wet, humid, and outdoor conditions. The employee is also exposed to varying temperature extremes including heat and cold as the weather varies. The employee is occasionally exposed to work on elevated platforms, with fumes or airborne particles, or with toxic or caustic chemicals. This employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and exposed to vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee will regularly lift and/or move 50lbs and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs. Specific detailed vision abilities are required by this job, including Distance vision, Color Vision, Peripheral vision and Depth perception.  While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, have dexterity of hands, reach with hands and arms, and communicate.
