Job Opportunity: Quality Assurance Specialist at a Global Food Company

  • Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday (may require weekend work); no remote work available

  • Wage: $23.50/hour, depending on experience

  • TB Test Required

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and review Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) records, documents, and samples related to HACCP, USDA, and FDA regulations.

  • Coordinate with regulatory agents such as USDA and FDA.

  • Manage third-party customer audits.

  • Improve food safety processes and procedures.

  • Oversee inspection of raw materials and finished goods to ensure high product quality.

  • Train employees on policies and procedures.

  • Monitor production processes from preparation to packaging.

  • Conduct weekly evaluations of products and ingredients.

  • Perform microbiological testing (e.g., In-house ATP, Listeria Spp.).

  • Attend bi-weekly QA conference calls.

  • Carry out other duties as assigned by the Unit Manager and/or Corporate Quality Assurance.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in food production Quality Assurance or a related field preferred.

  • BS degree or equivalent experience preferred

  • Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, and SOPs preferred.

  • Familiarity with food industry quality and sanitation standards advantageous.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required; advanced skills in Excel preferred.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.

  • Ability to multitask and work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Proficient in English, both written and oral.

Additional Notes:

  • Candidates with basic administrative or document control experience will be considered and trained if lacking food industry knowledge.

  • Must be willing to work in cold refrigerators and in the office for QA document review.

  • Open to candidates with a BS degree and no experience or those with food industry experience without a degree.
