Job Summary:
The Machine Operator plays a crucial role within the manufacturing departments by performing essential job functions that ensure a continuous flow of product. This position comes with premium medical benefits, PTO and converting to full-time after 6-9 months.
Location: Traverse City, MI
Shift: 3rd Shift – (10:00 PM – 6:30 AM) – Must train 6 weeks on 1st shift
Pay: $20 per hour
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate various types of machines (conventional or CNC) regularly, working on a range of complex parts to precise tolerances with average to complicated setups.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while selecting appropriate feeds, speeds, and tooling.
- Assist in troubleshooting and problem-solving for equipment breakdowns and production efficiency issues.
- Ensure that appropriate materials and tools are readily available for operations.
- Support Lean Enterprise, Quality, Safety, and Productivity initiatives through active participation.
- Operate multiple machines simultaneously to optimize labor costs.
Education and Work Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required; additional technical school training preferred.
- Excellent blueprint reading skills.
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Versatile machining experience and a strong mechanical background are advantageous.
- Commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, along with the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Experience with Lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
