Position Summary
This company is seeking a Senior Quality Manager to lead our quality assurance and quality control functions. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Senior Quality Manager will oversee the development, implementation, and management of quality control systems to ensure our products meet rigorous industry standards, customer requirements, and internal production goals. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with a proven record of driving organizational quality improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100, and other relevant industry standards
- Lead all quality assurance and quality control activities across manufacturing operations
- Supervise and mentor the QA/QC team, promoting ongoing employee development and managing team performance
- Monitor production and inspection processes to verify compliance with company and customer quality standards
- Analyze production data and customer feedback to identify and address areas for improvement
- Manage internal, customer, and third-party quality audits—including documentation and corrective action planning
- Lead root cause analyses and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to resolve quality issues
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all quality-related matters with customers and suppliers
- Collaborate with engineering, production, procurement, and other cross-functional teams to foster a culture of quality throughout the organization
- Develop, track, and report key quality performance indicators (KPIs)
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations affecting quality processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of quality management experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace
- In-depth knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Familiarity with Aerospace OEM engineering documentation and standards
- Experience with quality inspection equipment (CMM, Faro Arm, etc.)
- Demonstrated expertise with industry quality standards (ISO, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing)
- Certifications preferred: CQE, CQM, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt
- Strong understanding of statistical methods and quality tools (FMEA, SPC, 8D, etc.)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and quality management software
Working Conditions
- Work is performed in both office and shop floor environments
- Safety glasses and closed-toed shoes required; additional PPE generally not needed
- Occasional overtime may be required to meet priorities and deadlines
