Plant Controller – Madison Heights, MI (Onsite with 1 Day Remote Flexibility)
Salary: $135,000–$150,000 + Bonus

We’re looking for a Plant Controller to join a growing consumer packaged goods organization in Madison Heights, MI. This is a direct hire, permanent role offering strong visibility and impact within an organization that’s investing heavily in expansion, innovation, and operational excellence. As the key business partner to Plant Operations and Manufacturing Leadership, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving financial performance, cost control, and strategic decision support across the plant.


What You’ll Do

  • Partner closely with the Plant Director and Manufacturing Leadership (Engineering, Quality, Safety, Logistics) to deliver actionable financial insights


  • Lead Operations Finance for a major manufacturing facility, ensuring accurate and efficient cost control


  • Develop and maintain standard costing models and allocation methods


  • Analyze production, cycle count, and inventory variances, identify root causes, and recommend solutions


  • Provide cost modeling and analysis for new products, capital projects, and growth initiatives


  • Support the S&OP process, assessing financial impacts of business decisions


  • Drive forecasting, budgeting, and month-end close activities, including accruals and variance analysis


  • Track and report key KPIs such as throughput, yield, scrap, and labor efficiency


  • Deliver monthly operations performance reports and insights to plant leadership


What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field


  • 7–10+ years of experience in cost accounting, manufacturing finance, or FP&A


  • Manufacturing experience is required (CPG or Food industry a plus)


  • Experience with SAP is required


  • Strong accounting, reporting, and financial analysis skills


  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, ERP systems, and financial modeling


  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and business partnering skills
