Kelly Government Solutions is hiring for a systems engineer 2 on a government contract with our customer in Linthicum, MD. This is a contract to hire opportunity.
Job Description:
Our customer’s Space Systems division in Linthicum, MD is seeking a Test Engineer to support on-site, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift test bench operations for the Assembly, Integration and Test (AI&T) of a production Space Payload program.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Executing test scripts for the verification of Software, Hardware, and System requirements for applications in Space
- Understanding of RF (Radio Frequency) systems, especially RADAR, SIGINT, or COMMS; programming and scripting skills; and, working knowledge of RF test equipment (Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Power Meters, etc.) is desired
Required Qualifications:
- Experience with RADAR and/or ESA (Electronically Scanned Array) integration and test
- Experience with Space Payload or Space Vehicle (Satellite) integration and test in a clean room environment
- Programming in C or MATLAB for understanding and editing/improving existing code
- Scripting in Python or Tcl for understanding and editing/improving existing scripts
- Experience with Confluence, Jira, and Bitbucket
- BS in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math); or HS diploma with at least four (4) years of relevant military experience with sensor systems, ideally RADAR, integration and test or operation and maintenance, or military control room console operator; or defense industry work experience with sensor systems, ideally RADAR, integration and test or operation and maintenance
- Willingness to work dedicated 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift for up to a year (1st shift is 5 AM – 1 PM, Mon – Fri; 2nd shift is 1 PM – 9 PM, Mon -Fri; 3rd shift is 9 PM – 5 AM, Sun night – Fri morning)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with RADAR and/or ESA (Electronically Scanned Array) integration and test
- Experience with Space Payload or Space Vehicle (Satellite) integration and test in a clean room environment
- Programming in C or MATLAB for understanding and editing/improving existing code
- Scripting in Python or Tcl for understanding and editing/improving existing scripts
