Job Overview
Kelly is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Technician for a contract role supporting the production and assembly of medical devices and equipment. In this essential role, you will operate manufacturing machinery, conduct quality checks, and help maintain a safe, compliant, and efficient production environment. Key Responsibilities
Equipment Operation
- Set up, operate, and maintain a variety of manufacturing equipment and machinery to ensure optimal production.
- Rotate into assembly duties as needed to support team goals.
Production Monitoring
- Monitor manufacturing processes, track production metrics, and proactively identify issues to ensure production targets are met.
Quality Assurance
- Perform regular product and process inspections to meet quality standards; identify defects and participate in corrective actions as needed.
Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and resolve minor equipment malfunctions; perform basic repairs or adjustments to keep equipment running smoothly.
Documentation
- Accurately document equipment settings, production runs, quality inspections, and deviations from procedures; complete DHR and Q spec quality control sheets.
Material Handling
- Load raw materials, manage material flow, and oversee proper packaging and labeling of finished products.
- Handle ROTO processing (finishing, deburring, polishing, and cleaning of parts as required).
- Clean parts destined for production use.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with team members and supervisors to meet schedules; assist with onboarding and training new technicians.
Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to process and efficiency improvements by suggesting ideas and participating in team meetings or improvement initiatives.
Safety & Compliance
- Always adhere to safety protocols, regulations, and legal requirements; participate actively in safety training and incident reporting.
- Support and promote a culture of safety and compliance with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as blueprints and schematics.
- Proficiency with hand tools and measuring instruments.
- Effective communication, teamwork, and interpersonal abilities.
Physical Demands
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds as required.
- Stand and walk for extended periods; frequent movement between workstations.
- Perform repetitive motions and tasks associated with assembly, machinery operation, and inspection.
- Manual dexterity for precise assembly and inspection work.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and access lower-level equipment or storage areas.
- Good vision for reading documents, inspecting work, and monitoring equipment.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical training in machining, manufacturing technology, or related field preferred.
- Prior experience in manufacturing or production highly desirable.
- Experience with measuring tools and quality control processes preferred.
