What’s a typical day as a Final Line Mechanic I?
You’ll be:
-
Assembling, installing, adjusting, and repairing aircraft structural components and systems including control surfaces, landing gear, doors, engines, and related hardware.

Rigging control systems (cables, linkages, sectors, etc.) to ensure precise movement and function.

Removing and replacing parts, fittings, or lines to perform basic repairs or modifications.
-
Installing system lines, valves, ducts, and hardware—ensuring all systems are leak-free and meet Gulfstream’s quality standards.

Reading and interpreting blueprints, work instructions, and engineering drawings to complete assigned work accurately.

Maintaining accurate documentation (MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs, etc.) and checking your work for conformity before inspection.

Supporting FOD prevention, 5S housekeeping, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.
This job might be an outstanding fit if you have:
-
A High School Diploma or GED.
-
At least 1 year of aerospace or aviation experience, or equivalent mechanical background (auto mechanic, heavy equipment, etc.).

An A&P license (which may offset the one year of experience requirement).
-
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams.
-
Skill with tools such as drills, reamers, permaswage pumps, wrenches, and precision gauges.
-
Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders, stairs, or in confined spaces.
-
Preferred: Familiarity with Solumina and Smarteam systems.

Work performed at GAC Savannah, 500 Gulfstream Road, P.O. Box 2206, Savannah, GA 31408.

Temp-to-hire role with a strong possibility for conversion based on performance and business need.

Position supports aircraft certification and final phase testing, which may include flight test support.
