Kelly, in partnership with a growing manufacturer, is looking for a CNC Machinist/Programmer in Rome, NY.
This is a direct hire position, meaning you will be hired permanently with our client and offered their compensation and benefits upon hire.

Details:
- 1st shift opening: 7:30 am to 4:30 pm
- Pay: $25 – $36 per hour, based on experience.
Job Description:
- Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and/or other machinery to manufacture parts as per design specifications.
- Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs using G-codes.
- Interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to determine machining requirements.
- Select appropriate tooling and fixtures for each job and ensure their correct installation.
- Inspect finished products using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to verify conformance to specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machining or programming issues quickly to minimize downtime.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on machines and equipment.
- Maintain accurate manufacturing records and quality documents.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, production, and quality teams to meet project deadlines and achieve continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical/vocational training in machining preferred).
- 1+ years of experience as a CNC Machinist and Programmer in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with CNC controls (e.g., Fanuc, Haas, Mazatrol).
- Strong skills in CNC program creation, editing, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software is highly desired.
- Solid math, problem-solving, and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
