About the Role
We’re hiring a Senior Field Service Engineer for a growing manufacturer of advanced analytical instruments used in research and product development across biotech, materials, and technology industries.
If you’re the kind of engineer who loves rolling up your sleeves, solving tough technical problems, and helping customers keep cutting-edge equipment running perfectly — this is your kind of job.
You’ll lead field installations, troubleshoot complex systems, and make sure each instrument you touch performs at its absolute best. You’ll also be the bridge between the field and the engineering teams, giving real-world feedback that helps improve the next generation of products.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on variety, independence, and impact — no two days will ever look the same.
What You’ll Do
-
Install, calibrate, and repair high-precision scientific instruments used by research and manufacturing teams.
-
Troubleshoot complex systems that blend electronics, mechanics, and software.
-
Train customers on best practices and support them through every stage of ownership.
-
Mentor junior field engineers and share your expertise with the team.
-
Keep accurate service documentation and follow quality procedures.
-
Collaborate with engineering and R&D teams to report field issues and recommend improvements.
What You Bring
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or a technical field (Master’s a plus).
-
5+ years of field service or technical support experience in life sciences, instrumentation, automation, or similar industries.
-
Strong troubleshooting ability across mechanical, electrical, and software systems.
-
Proficiency with Windows-based systems and computer networking.
-
Excellent communication skills — you can talk tech with engineers and explain clearly to customers.
-
Organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently.
-
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel 20–40%.
Bonus Skills That Stand Out
-
Experience with laboratory or analytical instruments.
-
Background in GMP or ISO-regulated environments.
-
Familiarity with CRM or service management tools.
-
Certifications in Six Sigma, Lean, IPC, or equivalent.
-
Previous involvement supporting R&D or product development teams.
Why You’ll Love This Role
-
You’ll be the expert customers rely on when precision matters most.
-
You’ll work with advanced instruments that blend engineering, chemistry, and microfluidics.
-
You’ll have the freedom to solve problems creatively while being part of a collaborative technical team.
-
You’ll help shape how new products are built by providing direct feedback from the field.
If you’re a hands-on problem solver who takes pride in delivering top-tier service and thrives in a dynamic, high-tech environment — we’d love to talk to you.
