Location: Painesville, OH
Pay: Up to $36.00/hour based on experience 
Shift: 1st Shift 7am to 4pm Monday-Friday

Position Overview:
Kelly is seeking an experienced Tool & Die Maker to join our team. This role is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and fabricating tooling that meets exact specifications based on part drawings and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, precision machining skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
- Read and interpret blueprints and part drawings to create or modify tooling.
 
- Use precision measuring devices and equipment to verify accuracy of tooling.
 
- Repair and sharpen production tools to maintain operational standards.
 
- Fabricate new die inserts and adapt existing dies to different press configurations.
 
- Maintain adequate tooling stock by repairing or requisitioning replacement parts.
 
- Set dies in presses and ensure proper fit and alignment.
 
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and promote good housekeeping practices.
 
- Understand and apply safety protocols consistently.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
 
- Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or 7+ years of hands-on experience as a Die Maker.
 
- Technical school or some college coursework is preferred, but not required.
Skills & Abilities:
- Proficiency in using lathes, grinders, Bridgeport machines, and other precision machining tools.
 
- Ability to weld and operate acetylene torches.
 
- Strong understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
 
- Basic math skills including geometry and multi-digit calculations.
 
- Strong reasoning and problem-solving abilities based on experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
 
- Use of hands to operate tools and handle materials.
 
- Occasional lifting or movement of items up to 40 lbs.
 
- Good vision including depth perception and focus adjustment.
Work Environment:
- Frequently works near moving mechanical parts.
 
- Occasionally exposed to loud noise levels.
 
- Rare exposure to vibration.
 
- Must be comfortable in an industrial shop environment.
