Job details

Kelly Services is seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician for a long-term contract opportunity supporting operations at multiple sites for top petrochemical client. This position involves travel and hands-on work at pipeline pump stations, meter stations, and satellite sites.

Location: Houston, TX, with travel to Beaumont, Baytown, and Chicago
Pay Rate: $46.65/hr.
Contract: 1 year (possible extension)

Main Functions:

  • Research and review all existing electrical drawings for designated sites.

  • Verify incoming power (“medium voltage to low voltage”) and PLC low voltage inputs.

  • Conduct visual inspections of junction boxes, pull boxes, PLC cabinets, disconnects/MCC enclosures, and switch gear for labeling and identification.

  • Make labeling/identification adjustments, properly tag enclosures, pipe runs, and wire runs.

  • Ensure all electrical drawings are in PDF format for submission and approval.

  • Support field electrical maintenance and execute electrical isolation (Lock Out Tag Out for lighting, air-conditioning, and motors).

  • Plan and execute scheduled preventive and breakdown maintenance to maximize operational uptime.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Perform LV & HV electrical isolations and lock-offs.

  • Adhere strictly to company standards and procedural guidelines.

  • Raise relevant permits promptly within designated timeframes.

  • Report maintenance data for reliability analysis.

  • Participate in equipment failure investigations and support identification of reliability issues.

  • Generate new work requests for plant/equipment faults.

  • Develop and review operational and maintenance procedures.

  • Support new projects, including commissioning activities.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a related electrical maintenance role, preferably in the oil and gas industry.

  • Journeyman or Master Electrician designation required.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to clearly describe field conditions and recommend solutions.

  • Proven ability to work effectively within a team as well as independently.

  • Adaptable to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and changing priorities.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
