Job Title: Maintenance Planner
Position Summary
As a Maintenance Planner, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective execution of maintenance work by creating comprehensive job packages derived from work order scopes. This position requires advanced technical expertise and the ability to coordinate and optimize complex processes across multiple operational systems. You may serve as a working team lead, providing expert guidance and coordinating the activities of others to achieve excellent maintenance outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develops detailed job packages based on work order scope, including all required labor, materials, tools, and services to ensure safe and efficient job execution.
- Reviews work orders for technical completeness and collaborates with gatekeepers to resolve discrepancies.
- Conducts field checks as needed to verify work requirements, resources, and safety needs.
- Inputs plans and job packages into the Global Engineering and Maintenance Tracking System (GEMTS).
- Identifies specific tasks and activities necessary for job completion and secures appropriate tools, materials, and equipment.
- Solicits and integrates safety information and requirements into each job package to uphold a high standard of safety.
- Ensures compliance with the Maintenance Procedure Use Policy by including appropriate procedures or documenting exemptions, as well as verifying that hazard assessments are completed.
- Acts as a technical resource during procedure creation, review, and updates; develops and maintains job procedures, checklists, and manages changes as required.
- Utilizes feedback from field personnel to continuously optimize work plans and improve job execution.
- May provide direction, coordination, and technical support to maintenance team members.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree (or equivalent) in maintenance, manufacturing, engineering, or a related field. Equivalent years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Advanced knowledge of maintenance planning processes, safety standards, and operational best practices in manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Proficiency with maintenance management systems and job tracking software (e.g., GEMTS, SAP, Maximo).
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and optimize work activities, identify risk, and manage procedural compliance.
- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to lead, guide, and mentor others, contributing to a collaborative team environment.
