Kelly Science is seeking a 2nd Shift Sanitation Supervisor for a growing company located in Newburyport, MA.
Salary: $65,000-75,000/year
Schedule: Monday-Thursday: 5:00pm-3:00am
Employment Type: Full Time; Direct Hire
Job duties include:
- Lead and support staff in cleaning and sanitizing production equipment and facilities, following scheduled routines and safety protocols.
- Ensure all sanitation procedures and training meet company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor employee performance, attendance, and adherence to policies, offering coaching and feedback where needed.
- Provide hands-on help with chemical handling, safety practices, and the proper organization of sanitation supplies.
- Oversee pest control activities by managing schedules, monitoring effectiveness, and coordinating with service providers to keep the facility safe.
- Regularly review sanitation practices, spot issues, and help implement corrective actions if standards aren’t met.
- Work closely with other departments and shifts to quickly address and resolve sanitation concerns.
- Assist with audits, such as GFSI or FSC22000, and support any required corrective actions.
- Train team members in sanitation standards, safety procedures, and best practices.
- Keep accurate records of inspections, violations, and key sanitation performance metrics.
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, microbiology, food safety or a related scientific field.
- 3+ years of experience in a quality assurance or sanitation role within a food manufacturing environment.
- 1+ years of demonstrated leadership experience
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is required
- Strong knowledge of Microbiology, Sanitation, Chemical Safety, and Pest Control.
- Ability to work a flexible work scheduled if needed.
