Kelly Engineering has an outstanding Contract To Hire Occupational Safety Specialist role with an innovative company experiencing dynamic growth in greater Atlanta area.  This position offers a payrate of $45-$55 per hour and the opportunity to make a significant impact in a fast-paced, technically advanced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the occupational safety programs including fall protection, confined space entry, safe work permitting, electrical safety, energy isolation, contractor management, Job Safety Analysis.
  

• Ensures company compliance with all federal, state and local regulations
  

• Develop and implement health and safety procedures
  

• Drive continuous improvement of health and safety programs.
  

• Participate on the facility’s site safety council, emergency response team and lead other committees as needed.
  

• Develop and provide health and safety training to facility employees and contractors
  

• Perform routine field observations to identify unsafe conditions, at-risk behaviors, and environmental issues.
  

• Review and authorize safe work permits as necessary
  

• Lead incident investigations, develop and track corrective actions
  

• Provide necessary support to maintain site RCMS certification.

Qualifications:
 

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Safety Sciences preferred- experience in lieu of a BS degree considered
  

• 3-5 years of Occupational Safety experience, preferably in a laboratory or chemical manufacturing environment.
  

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred
  

• Working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and 1926, relevant ANSI Standards, & NFPA standards
