Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking an R&D Lab Technician near Harvey, IL.

1 year contract role
Shift: Monday – Friday 8am-5pm
Compensation: $24/hr

Position Overview:
The R&D Technician, reporting to the R&D Scientist, will contribute to laboratory operations through formulation and testing activities, and support the execution of various research projects. The successful candidate will be a proactive, hands-on professional who keeps abreast of relevant industry trends and technologies. The R&D Technician will foster strong working relationships across the technical team, as well as with the quality control and operations departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform formulation and laboratory testing activities to support research and product development.

  • Assist in the execution of research projects under the guidance of R&D leadership.

  • Maintain accurate records and well-organized laboratory notebooks.

  • Collaborate effectively with technical, quality, and operations teams.

  • Remain current with industry trends and relevant technologies.

  • Ensure all laboratory work is conducted in an organized and safe manner.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math); Chemistry preferred.

  • Familiarity with laboratory procedures and testing methodologies.

  • Excellent record-keeping and documentation skills.

  • Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, teamwork, laboratory, and communication abilities.

  • Capable of performing hands-on lab experiments independently.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.

  • Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Familiarity with patents and raw material databases a plus.

  • Experience in product development and product modifications is preferred.
