Position Summary
Electrical Engineer will be a key role in the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems and equipment used in commercial, industrial, and utility environments. This role contributes to both the design and production of products, ensuring high performance, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
Primary Responsibilities
- Research, design, and evaluate electrical systems, components, and materials to meet performance and safety requirements.
- Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) and engineering software to create and refine electrical layouts and schematics.
- Develop and execute testing protocols to verify system and component capabilities.
- Supervise and coordinate construction, installation, and maintenance projects to ensure alignment with technical specifications, codes, and client expectations.
- Translate customer needs into innovative electrical solutions by exploring new materials, manufacturing techniques, and assembly methods.
- Support manufacturing by designing and optimizing equipment and processes; collaborate with operators to improve production efficiency.
- Act as a technical resource for internal teams, vendors, and customers by providing timely and accurate engineering information.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations to uphold product quality and company integrity.
- Maintain and service equipment according to established operational standards and manufacturer guidelines.
- Investigate and resolve customer concerns through detailed root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
- Manage and update engineering databases and documentation, including logic diagrams, wiring schematics, and system interaction drawings.
- Stay current on industry advancements by attending workshops, reading trade literature, and engaging in professional networks.
- Support sales and estimating teams by providing technical input on new product concepts and enhancements.
- Collaborate with purchasing and suppliers to review and approve modifications to component parts and assemblies.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute engineering projects of varying complexity with limited supervision.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of five (5) years of directly related experience or equivalent engineering background.
- Proficiency or interest in learning AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and PDM software, with the ability to perform independent technical calculations.
- Strong grasp of engineering principles, methods, and technologies applied to electrical system design and production.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with medium-voltage systems, or similar industrial/commercial electrical applications is highly desirable.
