Job Title: Receiving Clerk / Material Handler
Location: Newington, CT
Schedule: Full-time | Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay: $19.00/hour
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire
Position Overview
We are seeking a Receiving Clerk / Material Handler to join our logistics team in Newington, CT. This position focuses primarily on receiving operations while supporting material handling and parts pulling for production. The role ensures accurate processing of incoming goods, material movement between buildings, and maintaining organized, safe, and efficient warehouse operations.
Responsibilities
- Unload delivery trucks and containers promptly and safely
 
- Verify incoming shipments, perform initial quality and quantity checks, and process receipts in SAP
 
- Pull and deliver parts to assembly areas using pallet jacks, forklifts, and transport carts
 
- Record material transactions such as receiving, issuing, and adjusting stock counts in SAP
 
- Support all receiving and shipping activities as needed
 
- Maintain inventory accuracy and workplace organization in alignment with 5S principles
 
- Assist in labeling, unpacking, and stocking materials on designated shelves
 
- Work independently to identify and resolve material flow issues efficiently
 
- Stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods; safely lift up to 50 lbs regularly
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
 
- Valid driver’s license required
 
- Forklift operation experience required
 
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse environments preferred
 
- Familiarity with SAP or barcode scanning systems a plus
 
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication abilities
 
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, production-driven environment
