Safety Coordinator
Location: Duffield, VA
Pay Range: $41,000 – $47,000
Shift: 2nd Shift
Position Summary
The 2nd Shift Safety Coordinator is responsible for monitoring and evaluating daily operations to improve safety procedures, mitigate risks, and ensure regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Implement and enforce safety policies and programs.
- Advise and lead employees on safety-related topics.
- Conduct First Aid and safety training sessions as needed.
- Support daily Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) processes and requirements.
- Facilitate safety audits, risk assessments, and job hazard analyses.
- Perform regular safety inspections (e.g., fire extinguishers, eye wash stations).
- Identify and communicate potential safety gaps or hazards in production.
- Monitor organization-wide safety compliance.
- Assist with preparing reports on accidents, investigations, root causes, and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Safety Manager to develop procedures and protocols in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Prepare reports on safety metrics and compliance.
- Perform additional duties as required by management.
Requirements
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Experience:
- 1–2 years in a manufacturing environment.
Certificates/Licenses:
- Valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable to company insurance standards.
Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and relevant safety applications.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Outstanding oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Team-oriented approach to achieve shared safety goals.
- Ability to set and lead safe practices by example.
- Proven ability to coordinate high-level activity under various conditions.
