Job details
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Behavior Technician to provide support for a student with limited arm function. The BT will assist the student in daily activities, participation in a work program, and support him in academic and functional tasks.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work Program Assistance:
- Accompany the student to his morning work program.
- Ride the small school bus with him and remain on-site for approximately 2–2.5 hours each day.
- Note: Current placement is at a farm; the environment is mostly outdoors.
- Accompany the student to his morning work program.
- Behavioral Support:
- Monitor behaviors and provide support as needed.
- Academic/Functional Support:
- Repeat instructions or information when needed to support the student’s understanding.
- Act as a scribe for the student during tasks when he is fatigued due to his arm.
- Assist with basic, functional goals and tasks as directed by the teacher.
- Monitor behaviors and provide support as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with physical or cognitive disabilities preferred.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies.
- Strong communication and patience.
- Ability to work outdoors and adapt to schedule changes.
- Background checks required.
