Job details

As a Powder Coat I, you will play a crucial role in our production process by painting and using powder operations to prepare components for a variety of products. Your attention to detail and adherence to quality standards will contribute to the successful completion of our projects.

Job Specifications:

  • Job Type: Fulltime

  • Location: Portage, MI

  • Shift: 3rd Shift Sunday – Thursday (Friday morning) 8:45 pm – 5:15 am

  • Payrate: $19.00/hr

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Paint components and perform powder operations to prepare them for production

  • Follow directions and adhere to quality and quantity standards to meet part specifications

  • Read and understand procedures, safety sheets, instructions, and policies in English

  • Carry out verbal instructions and communicate effectively in English

  • Maintain good housekeeping and ergonomics practices to ensure safety

  • Participate in workplace organization and follow training procedures, including cross training and teamwork

  • Demonstrate stamina and attention to detail in repetitive tasks

  • Speak up and report any safety or quality issues that may arise

  • Learn new processes, systems, and equipment as required

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams and contribute to conflict resolution

  • Motivate yourself to grow, learn, and progress to the next level in skills through willingness and ability to cross train

Qualifications & Skills:

  • High school diploma or GED, preferred

  • Ability to meet work schedule and overtime requirements, including weekends

  • Proficiency in reading and understanding written instructions and policies in English

  • Strong verbal communication skills in English

  • Ability to prioritize safety and follow safety related practices, including good housekeeping and ergonomics

  • Ability to learn new processes, systems, and equipment

  • Basic knowledge of documentation, team concepts, and basic preventative maintenance

  • Ability to work well in a diverse team environment and contribute to conflict resolution
