Job Opportunity: Inventory Control Specialist – Pooler, GA
Pay Rate: $19/hour (Increase by $1 after 90 days upon direct hire)
Location: Pooler, GA
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (30-minute lunch; overtime may be required)


Position Summary

The Inventory Control Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining optimal stock levels, managing inventory processes, and supporting warehouse operations. You will be responsible for ordering supplies, conducting periodic audits, and ensuring the accuracy of records and physical inventory. This position is also involved in supporting returns and inbound operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor inventory levels and order new supplies within pre-authorized limits

  • Establish backup sources for popular or high-demand items

  • Analyze inventory reports and order patterns to set up recurring deliveries

  • Prepare and distribute inventory reports to management

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with vendors

  • Accurately document incoming and outgoing shipments each day

  • Manage and maintain computerized inventory systems, including upgrades under supervision

  • Conduct frequent spot checks and cycle counts of physical stock; assist with annual physical audits

  • Operate reach forklift and cherry picker as needed (certification preferred)

  • Oversee the returns workflow and inbound/receiving teams

  • Process inbound receipts in warehouse management systems (WMS)

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience in picking, packing, and inventory control required

  • Familiarity with reach forklifts, cherry pickers, and warehouse management systems (WMS) such as D365 or SAP preferred

  • Excellent communication skills for working with internal teams and external vendors

  • Strong organizational and data entry abilities; proficient keyboarding skills

  • Capable of basic math calculations and inventory procedures

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Forklift operator certification preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit at a desk and use a computer for extended periods

  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds as needed

  • Capable of navigating the warehouse and accessing items stored at various heights

Work Environment:
Warehouse is not temperature controlled</strong>; large doors provide airflow. Typical attire includes tennis shoes with covered ankles and jeans.
