Job Title: Forklift Operator 3 (Reach Truck Operator)
Location: Chicago Heights, IL
Pay rate: $21.00
Shift: 6 pm – 6 am Mon – Friday.
Job Summary
The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating material-handling equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role requires strong forklift operation skills including Reach Truck experience and may include order-filling and order-checking duties as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely unload inbound shipments and move products to designated storage locations.
- Efficiently stack and store merchandise in the appropriate areas.
- Pull and prepare products for shipment according to customer orders.
- Ensure accurate quantities and correct product types are picked and staged.
- Meet customer service and productivity standards.
- Move product from staging or storage areas into trailers or rail cars efficiently and safely.
- Operate Reach Truck, forklifts, clamps, push-pulls, and other powered industrial equipment.
- Use RF scanners to track and process inventory.
- Follow all safety procedures and prescribed work methods.
- Maintain accurate records to ensure strong inventory control and security.
- Assist with physical inventories and cycle counts.
- Ensure proper stock rotation.
- Perform or assist with basic building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as needed.
- Uphold and maintain all SQF Food Safety Code requirements for Manufacturing.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must have Reach Truck experience (not just sit-down forklift).
- 1–2 years of Reach Truck experience required.
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
