About the Role
The Forklift Operator II is responsible for operating a variety of material handling equipment for moving, locating, stacking, and counting merchandise in our warehouse facility. Safety and efficiency are top priorities, as well as the flexibility to assist with order filling and checking as needed. This operator must be certified on at least three types of forklift equipment and spend at least 50% or more of their time operating equipment such as sit-down/standup, clamp, cherry, and reach forklifts within a rack warehouse environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Stack and store merchandise in designated areas using sit-down/standup, clamp, cherry, and/or reach equipment (50% of service time).
- Safely unload inbound shipments and move products to storage locations.
- Pull and prepare products for shipment.
- Ensure correct number and type of products are loaded and shipped.
- Efficiently perform picking duties to meet customer service standards.
- Move products from staging and/or storage into trailers.
- Operate all equipment safely and efficiently according to prescribed work methods.
- Maintain accurate records and reports for inventory control and security.
- Assist in physical inventories and conduct cycle counts as requested.
- Ensure proper stock rotation.
- Utilize RF scanning equipment to verify inventory accuracy.
- Complete equipment inspection forms prior to operation.
- Report safety concerns promptly to management.
- Report and assist in resolving inventory discrepancies.
- Basic use of Excel and other general computer applications required.
Skills, Experience & Education
Mandatory Skills
- High School Diploma/GED preferred.
- At least 1 year operating a forklift and/or warehouse distribution equipment.
- Able to operate sit-down/standup, clamp, cherry, and reach forklifts; forklift certification on at least three pieces of equipment required.
- Ability to stand/walk for 10-12 hours and lift/pull 50 lbs. without restriction.
- Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching above the head and below the waist.
- Ability to work in environments with variable noise, lighting, and temperature and access all areas of the building.
- Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Attention to detail, excellent customer service, and basic math skills required.
- Excel knowledge and proficiency with general computer tasks.
