At Kelly® Professional & Industrial, we’re seeking an Optical Assembler to work for a premier optics manufacturer in West Henrietta, NY. With us, it’s all about finding the right opportunity for you!
Pay: $20.00 – $22.00/hr. (Depending on experience). Temp to Hire.
Schedule: Day Shift, Monday – Friday.
Summary: In this role, the Optical Assembler will support production by cleaning, inspecting, and assembling precision optical components, including doublets, triplets, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies. The ideal candidate has strong manual dexterity, excellent visual acuity, and the ability to follow detailed procedures in a cleanroom environment.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Clean and inspect optical components and mounts using MIL specifications and engineering drawings
- Assemble and bond optical doublets and triplets using optical-grade adhesives and passive alignment techniques
- Assemble and bond lens elements within mounts and barrels
- Verify alignment and quality of sub-assemblies and final assemblies using specialized tools
- Diagnose potential failure modes in optical assemblies
- Maintain assembly and test equipment, tools, and workspace per GMP, ISO, and HSE requirements
- Accurately complete all work orders and documentation
- Follow and enforce cleanroom protocols and safety requirements
This job might be an outstanding fit if you…
- Have a High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- Have 2+ years of experience in optical assembly or related manufacturing (Required)
- Have good manual dexterity and strong visual acuity
- Possess proficient math skills and the ability to read blueprints
- Are comfortable with repetitive tasks and prolonged sitting/standing in a cleanroom environment (PPE Provided)
- Can perform magnified inspection work (may cause eye strain)
