Job Title: Field Service Technician
Schedule: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, with up to 50% travel
Salary: $55,000 – $60,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to provide on-site technical support for industrial machinery and equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills and experience in reading schematics and using electrical meters for diagnostics. This role requires frequent travel and hands-on troubleshooting of various mechanical, electrical, and computer hardware issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform onsite diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance for industrial machinery, including CNC equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics for effective troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Utilize electrical meters, hand tools, and diagnostic software to service equipment.
- Install and configure hardware and software, including PC AutoCAD systems, and support equipment integration.
- Address issues related to hydraulics and pneumatics as needed.
- Provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly with clients, and offer technical support and instructions.
- Document service visits, repairs, and maintenance in an organized manner.
- Travel to client sites as required (up to 50% of the role).
Qualifications
- Associate degree or completion of a trade school program in Industrial Automation (required).
- Minimum 1 year experience in computer hardware support, mechanical systems, and electrical systems.
- Demonstrated skills in schematic reading and operating electrical meters for diagnostics.
- Hands-on experience with PC AutoCAD software (preferred).
- Experience with CNC equipment, hydraulics, and pneumatics (preferred).
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage schedules, and travel as needed.
