Construction Scheduler (Senior Construction Scheduling Specialist)
 
 
Role Overview:
The Senior Construction Scheduling Specialist serves as a key technical expert in Scheduling within the Global Project Methodology (GPM) work process. This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining the construction schedule baseline, providing consistent reporting, and monitoring and controlling construction activities to ensure efficient project execution. In this role, you will collaborate closely with multiple construction contractors and internal disciplines to ensure accurate forecasting and schedule tracking. You will also partner with project leadership to address schedule deviations and drive necessary corrective actions.
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain integrated master project schedules covering all project phases: Front-End Loading, Detail Design, Procurement, Construction, and Start-up/Commissioning.

  • Coordinate data inputs from various contractors and internal stakeholders to maintain accurate schedule forecasts and progress reporting.

  • Utilize project cost estimates to resource-load schedules, ensuring alignment between project scope and timeline.

  • Conduct staffing density and limitation checks to validate schedule durations and resource allocations in support of project strategy.

  • Lead project teams in identifying schedule challenges, performing critical path analysis, and providing actionable solutions for timely project completion.

  • Monitor schedule progress throughout the project lifecycle; incorporate modifications when the scope changes or delays arise.

  • Evaluate project deviations for schedule impact and develop recovery plans when needed.

  • Apply established schedule management practices to identify and address critical issues, recommending corrective actions.

  • Assist with quantity tracking, installation rates, and perform quantity surveys to validate construction progress.

  • Recommend cycle time reduction opportunities and methods to optimize project delivery.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (or equivalent) OR a minimum of 10 years of experience in project controls, engineering, manufacturing, or related fields.

  • Practical experience as a scheduler working with large construction contractors, coordinating multiple subcontractors (e.g., civil, structural steel, piping, insulation, scaffolding, etc.).
