Job Summary:
As a Manufacturing Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our manufacturing floor. You will be responsible for handling confidential and time-sensitive materials while adhering to established practices and procedures. Your experience and judgment will be relied upon to plan and achieve goals. With a focus on sales forecasting, you will contribute to the development of annual sales forecasts aligned with marketing goals and sales management guidance.
Job Specifications:
– Job Type: Full-time, DIRECT HIRE!
– Location: Weldon, NC
– Pay Rate: $70,000 – $90,000/yearly based upon experience
– Shift: 1st Shift, 6:30am to 6:30pm on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule
-Note: This position works every other weekend
Roles and Responsibilities:
– Understand and acknowledge daily responsibilities for environmental, health, and safety, conducting safety audits, and developing action plans.
– Plan and direct daily activities within the department, ensuring on-time delivery and lead-time goals are met.
– Identify and address maintenance issues, ensuring timely completion of breakdowns, scheduled, and preventive maintenance.
– Recommend staffing changes and overtime to meet production requirements.
– Specify and requisition tools, fixtures, spare parts, and raw materials as needed.
– Review, monitor, and focus on increasing productivity within assigned areas of responsibility.
– Ensure ongoing compliance with product quality requirements and identify opportunities for improvement.
– Participate in scrap meetings, ensure work instructions are available to operators, and conduct Control Plan audits.
– Participate in/lead continuous improvement projects and prepare monthly update reports.
– Conduct regular communication meetings for assigned work centers, discussing quality procedures, non-conformance areas, and employee performance.
– Maintain records of employee time and attendance, provide counseling as needed, and conduct annual performance appraisals.
Qualifications & Skills:
– High school graduate, with a 4-year secondary degree preferred.
– Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience or 2 or more years of formal technical training beyond high school and 3-5 years of people supervision with proven conflict resolution ability.
– Basic professional knowledge of environmental, health, and safety issues.
– Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, problem-solving techniques, material requirements planning (MRP), and time and attendance.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office and companion programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook).
