Work-Type: Direct-Hire, Full-Time, M-F 1st Shift + Option to WFH, per project load
Salary: $140K-160K (DOE) + Comprehensive Benefits + Relocation Support

Job Description:
As a Mass Spectrometry Group Leader, you will be involved in all client proteomics projects conducted in our laboratories, as well as in internal research and development efforts. You will be part of a highly collaborative team of scientists and contribute to our mission of bringing high quality proteomics analyses to an ever-growing international client base.
We strive to operate at the forefront of technology and routinely incorporate new technologies into our constantly expanding portfolio of services.

Key duties and responsibilities include:
 

  • Daily operation, quality control and troubleshooting of mass spectrometry and liquid chromatography equipment in interaction with technical personnel in the MS team.

  • Development and implementation of LC-MS methods for both multiplexed discovery approaches as well as targeted analyses.

  • Daily interaction with scientists from neighboring departments to customize the approach depending on project requirements.

  • Supporting the COO in the management of group resources and capacity planning to ensure a timely delivery of client projects within the allocated budget.

  • MS data analysis and close collaboration with the Bioinformatics team, suggesting and exploring novel ways of analyzing and interpreting MS data.

  • Technical consulting and contribution to client communication in the form of project proposals, data presentations and reporting.

  • Depending on experience, project management of customer projects.

You have:
 

  • You hold an Ph.D. with 5 years, MS with 10 years or BS with 15 years of relevant industry experience.

  • You have hands-on experience in the operation and maintenance of mass spectrometry and LC equipment (ideally, Orbitrap and other Thermo Fisher MS instruments).

  • Involvement in multiplexed discovery proteomics experiments, including the analysis of post-translational modifications.

  • First experience in the development of targeted SRM and PRM methods for peptide analytes. Additional experience in the analyses of metabolites and small molecules will be considered a plus.

  • You have an open-minded, flexible personality and can-do problem-solving attitude and you communicate efficiently in cross-functional teams as well as in front of clients.

  • Small Team Line Management experience will be advantageous.

  • Leading scientific projects / collaborations will be an advantage.

  • Good command of English, both spoken and written.
