Location: North Montreal 
Salary: $130,000 per year
Day Shift 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and facilities teams to ensure safe maintenance, repair or replacement of plant equipment, utilities and systems that ensures optimum production efficiency and quality. Similarly, in working with the production team, the manager is to ensure the production schedule is satisfied by meeting on-time start and completion and maximizing machine up-times. Additionally, the manager will also be supporting the delivery of key projects that impact the profitability and support the strategic direction of the organization. The manager must ensure all activities are in compliant with organizational, regulatory and legislative requirements.

What you will do:
• Insure compliance with government and safety regulations and company safe working practices.
• Plan and direct activities related to design, modification and repair of machinery, mechanical and hydraulic components of production equipment in a manufacturing environment
• Oversee the installation, repair, maintenance and operation of automated machinery and equipment such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Computer Numeric and other control instruments
• Responsible for the repair and maintenance of the office and plant facilities
• Ensure the effective leadership, evaluate and development core competencies and implement training for the maintenance department staff
• Monitor, measure and improve predictive and preventive maintenance to reduce unplanned downtime
• Solve issues utilizing troubleshooting and root cause analysis tools
• Forecast and operate within the maintenance and site-wide capital expense budgets
• Monitor, analyze and report on key performance metrics for department
• Manage capital and other projects utilizing internal and external resources and report on status to milestones
• Participate as key member of management team in the implementation of lean manufacturing practices
• Responsible for specification and initial selection of plant related equipment to improve the effectiveness of operations

What you need:
•5-10 years maintenance management level experience in a manufacturing environment
Coordinate with all outside contractors and ensure that work is completed in a safe manner that complies with all necessary manufacturing codes, regulations and standards i.e. H&S, GMP’s, HACCP, WHMIS, MSDS

•Demonstrated understanding of maintenance productivity and budget metrics
• Strong troubleshooting ability including root cause corrective action skills
• Demonstrated experience working closely with leaders from production, purchasing, suppliers and others.
• Computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office, SAP and other enterprise software for purchasing and maintenance management
Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC
• Previous hands-on experience with heavy industrial plant maintenance including hydraulics, pumps, and electrical.
• Proven project management skills and experience
• Good organizational skills, analytical ability, written and verbal communication skills
