What’s a typical day as a Wastewater Treatment Operator? You’ll be:
• Operate the wastewater treatment system in compliance with organization discharge limits.
• Operating wastewater treatment, sludge processing, and disposal equipment in the wastewater treatment plant
• Monitoring control panels and adjusting valves to regulate flow of influent and chemicals
• Observing variations in operating conditions and interpreting metered, gauged readings, and test results

• Start and stop pumps, engines, and generators to control flow of wastewater through filtering, settling, aeration, and sludge digestion processes.
• Performing routine inspections of tanks and other associated equipment
• Performing preventative maintenance of wastewater plant equipment and basic troubleshooting
• Performing wastewater plant sampling and analysis of samples
• Monitoring wastewater plant processes and making adjustments as needed
• Operating and maintaining power generating equipment to provide air and electricity for the plant
• Understanding and complying with all Quality Assurance policies

This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Have a minimum of two (2) years of wastewater treatment experience or equivalent training/certification
• Possess basic mechanical competency with standard wastewater equipment
• Hold a Basic Wastewater Operator Certification by state agency
• Have effective communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in work
• Can extract, analyze, and act on information with limited supervisory input
• Have basic math and computer operational skills
• Maintain updated knowledge of federal and state regulations, procedures, and standards
• Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and work to maintain constructive working relationships
•  Are able to stand and walk for the majority of your shift, as well as wear required PPE
