Kelly Science is currently seeking an experienced EH&S Specialist – Industrial hygiene for the Dow site in Fort Saskatchewan, AB!

Title: EH&S Specialist – Industrial hygiene
Contract length: 12+ months contract
Location: Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta T8L 2P4 (Onsite)
9/80 schedule.

Job Description:

  • Shares responsibility for the implementation of the Industrial Hygiene management system, in order to meet business objectives and to maintain the license to operate.

  • Provides hands-on industrial hygiene (IH), and health and safety (H&S) activities for the site.

  • Requires broadened technical skills in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes to perform a defined array of activities.

  • May act as an informal resource for team members with less experience.

Responsibilities / Duties

  • Implements detailed, task level, day to day IH programs, utilizing the EH&S work process, standards and procedures.

  • Ensures that the IH, and Health and Safety aspects of operating discipline are adequate and applied to achieve EH&S performance goals. In most cases, would perform the role of section owner for the IH sections of operating discipline.

  • Acts as the Plant resource for related IH information on procedures, guidelines, and standards.

  • Serves as contact for IH, and Health and Safety issues.

  • Coaches teams and individuals on IH related tasks and activities.

  • Assists in developing and achieving area EH&S goals.

  • Ensures compliance tasks are completed.

  • Performs/coordinates certain IH monitoring, data collection, analyzing and reporting.

Experience

  • Completion of Short-Cycle Tertiary Degree (i.e. associate’s degree) in related field plus EH&S, manufacturing or other related experience preferred. In lieu of degree, equivalent years of experience required.

  • Preferred qualifications – Radiation safety officer, Cority.
