Senior FSQA Manager

The FSQA Manager will be responsible for the Plant Food Safety, Quality and Sanitation. Here’s a breakdown of the key responsibilities and required skills:
Food Safety & Quality Program Development & Implementation:
- BRC Leadership: Ensuring compliance with BRC standards.
- HACCP/PCQI: Developing and maintaining HACCP plans, identifying hazards, and implementing controls.
- GMP & Sanitation Audits: Conducting audits, identifying deficiencies, and implementing corrective actions.
- Complaint & Hold Management: Investigating customer complaints, foreign material events, and non-conforming products.
- Hygiene Management: Overseeing facility hygiene, GMP training, and sanitation validation.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring compliance with FSMA, BRC, and other certifications (Organic, Gluten-Free, Kosher).
- Auditing: Managing internal and external audits.
- Sampling & Testing: Overseeing ingredient, finished product, and environmental testing.
- Supplier Management: Monitoring supplier quality through vendor assurance programs.
- Environmental Monitoring: Managing the environmental monitoring program and conducting risk assessments.
- Hold & Disposition Management: Managing held products and materials.
- Pest & Chemical Control: Managing pest and chemical control programs.
- Food Security: Managing the food security program.
Team Leadership & Development:

- Training & SOP Development: Creating and implementing SOPs for the quality and sanitation teams.
- Problem Solving & Critical Thinking: Teaching problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Staffing & Performance Management: Managing staffing levels, conducting performance evaluations, and administering disciplinary actions.
- Training & SOP Development: Creating and implementing SOPs for the quality and sanitation teams.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:

- Production Floor Presence: Spending significant time on the production floor.
- Quality Contact: Serving as the main quality contact for daily facility activities.
- Compliance Enforcement: Ensuring plant-wide compliance with quality programs.
- Communication: Communicating effectively with other departments.
- Specification Management: Ensuring customer specifications are accurately implemented.
- Production Floor Presence: Spending significant time on the production floor.

- Corrective & Preventive Actions: Determining and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Financial Reporting: Providing accurate departmental information to finance.
- GMP training.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biological Science, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in Quality Assurance in a food manufacturing facility.
- HACCP and PCQI certifications.
- Understanding of production equipment and sanitary design.
- Experience with sanitation, SSOPs, and chemical selection.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Commitment to continuous improvement.
- Experience with industry standards, regulations, and audits (FSMA, GFSI, BRC, HACCP).
- Strong training and employee engagement skills.
