Kelly, in partnership with a tenured and growing manufacturer, is looking for several CNC Set Up Machinists, in Elgin, IL.
This is a direct hire role meaning you will be hired permanently with our client and offered their benefit and vacation package immediately upon hire.

- 1st Shift: Mon.-Thurs. 6am-3:30pm, Fri. 6am-10am
- 2nd Shift: Mon.-Thurs. 3:30pm-1am, Fri. 3:30pm-7:30pm
- 1st Shift: Mon.-Thurs. 6am-3:30pm, Fri. 6am-10am
- Pay: $30 - $38 per hour
- Location: Elgin, IL
Job Description:
- Operate single and multiple CNC turning lathes.
- Make offset adjustments and teach tool usage.
- Train others to set up and operate EDM and multiple CNC turning lathes.
- Set up and operate one type of CNC machine and for complex parts.
- Download programs and install tools.
- Comfortable with G & M codes.
- Handle shorter runs with more setups per shift and train others to deburr parts by hand.
- Train to set up mills for machining and operate the Roller Mic.
- Grind reliefs for cutting tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints (FO) and perform basic measurements using calipers.
- Complete all quality checks and use CMM to ensure parts meet tolerance specifications.
- Meet or exceed productivity goals more than 80% of the time and complete Near Hits documentation.
- Perform preventive and basic maintenance on required equipment.
- Record accurate and timely data, including order completions, quantities on daily labor reports, reclaim tickets for reject parts, and daily hours worked.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area, ensuring walkways and aisles are free of debris and adhering to 5S standards.
Requirements:
- Two or more years of experience with CNC Setups
- Understanding of G&M code programming
