Laboratory Technician (Temporary/Potential Temporary to hire)
Location: Miami, FL
Schedule: First shift, anytime between 6:00 AM–5:30 PM, with rotating weekend availability and overtime as needed
Pay Rate: $20–$23 per hour
The Lab Technician supports laboratory operations by preparing chemical solutions, performing wet chemistry testing on incoming waste and finished products, and ensuring compliance with quality assurance and regulatory standards. This role plays an important part in maintaining plant quality, environmental compliance, and safe laboratory practices while providing valuable hands-on experience in an industrial lab setting.

Follow all health and safety procedures, prioritizing a safe working environment.

Collect, analyze, and record data for incoming and outgoing materials, water, and waste streams.

Perform sampling and testing in accordance with ASTM standards.

Maintain accurate records, logs, and compliance documentation.

Enter analytical data into SAP and update trackers for incoming loads.

Assist with ordering, organizing, and managing laboratory supplies.

Calibrate, maintain, and perform basic preventive maintenance on lab equipment.

Interpret test results and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.

Safely handle and store chemicals, reagents, and solutions while maintaining inventory.

Support R&D testing and evaluation as directed.

Perform other laboratory tasks as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related Science field with 1 year of wet-lab experience</strong>; or
-
Associate degree in Chemistry or Biology with 2 years of QA/QC laboratory experience.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in an environmental or industrial laboratory setting.

Bilingual (English/Spanish).

Physical Demands

Ability to routinely lift up to 20 pounds.

Ability to stand, walk, or sit for up to 4 hours at a time.

Ability to wear safety shoes, respirator, and other required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Work Environment
This position involves working in both laboratory and plant environments with possible exposure to extreme temperatures, humidity, and hazardous or non-hazardous chemicals. Strict adherence to all safety regulations is required.
