Job Opportunity: CVE Test Engineer
Location: Longmont, CO – Onsite
Duration: 1 year with possible extension
Job Description & Responsibilities
- Review and optimize test plans, coverage, and activities to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.
Initiatives:
- Recommend and implement new validation approaches for better coverage and accuracy.
Requirements Analysis
- Knowledge: Maintain understanding of product functionality and industry certifications.
- Equipment: Identify suitable testing equipment.
Planning: Develop test schedules and strategies aligned with project scope and deadlines.
- Validation Strategy Test Cases: Understand and verify current test cases.
- Collaboration: Work with CVE and product design teams to enhance test cases, ensuring coherence with firmware and hardware architecture.
- Shift-Left Efforts: Move failure detection from customer tests to internal frameworks.
Test Design and Development
- Automation: Define and execute a test automation strategy, contributing to in-house automation tools.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and refine validation processes.
- Development: Create test cases and scripts.
- Test Execution Preparation: Supply and pre-format SSD and server samples for validation.
- Execution: Follow the product validation flow as per the validation plan.
- Monitoring: Track and reduce test time.
- Analysis: Analyze results and generate reports with clear findings.
- Documentation: Maintain document revisions for historical reference.
- Defect Management; Root-Cause Analysis: Identify and resolve failures from various validation teams and customers.
- Reproduction: Implement clear steps to reproduce failures and ensure traceability.
- Collaboration: Work with partner teams to assess test results and generate deviations.
Responsibilities:
- Use customer-manufactured servers for testing across various operating systems, purchase, set up, and maintain these systems, execute tests, and analyze failures.
Requirements:
- Experience with Linux and Windows, familiarity with different platforms, and ability to analyze system logs.
- Location: In-person at Longmont, Colorado facility due to product testing expansion.
Experience:
- Preference for candidates with at least three years of testing experience.
- Interview: Likely a panel interview with 4 to 6 people.
- SSD Experience Preferred for Candidates
- Relevance: Preference for candidates with SSD experience, especially with PCIe and NVMe protocols.
- Education: Degree preferred but not required.
- Flexibility: Open to candidates from various industries, with a priority for those with direct SSD experience.
New Hire Ramp-Up and Interview Process
Ramp-Up Time: 4 to 6 weeks for new hires to learn processes and become independent.
Qualities: Creativity, independent operation, experience with different operating systems and servers.
