Job Title: Machinist
Location: Brantford, ON
Shift: Straight Days
Pay: $36.45 Certified
Our client has an exciting opportunity for you to grow as an integral part of their Operations team. This position requires a safety mindset, a can-do attitude, and the ability to work in a team setting.
As a Machinist, you will:
- Operate Various Machines: Safely operate and set up a variety of machines including turret lathes, thread rolling machines, tapping heads, mills, and saws to manufacture and machine parts to specifications.
- Manual and CNC Machining: Perform both manual machining and CNC programming, including 5-axis milling operations, without the use of CAM software.
- Precision Work: Conduct precision tube facing and measure parts using calibrated gauges, ensuring quality and adherence to specifications.
- Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Handle general maintenance tasks, notify when supplies are needed, and contribute to plans for in-house manufacturing, adapting to alternative methods during breakdowns.
- Material Handling: Manage material handling and storage, including cutting various metals and organizing raw materials.
- Additional Duties: Perform additional tasks such as buffing, grinding, deburring, and heavy lifting as required.
Who You Are:
You focus on creating an effective collaborative style, understand the importance of internal customer relationships, and are open to change and new opportunities.
Required Education, Experience & Skills:
- Certified General Machinist with CNC Certification.
- Proficient in changing blades, tooling inserts, and setup with program adjustments.
- Able to read and interpret metric and imperial prints, and execute and manipulate machine programs.
- Maintain a clean and presentable workplace during and at the end of each shift.
- Identify areas for improvement with a positive attitude towards solving issues.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and adherence to safety procedures and company health and safety policies.
