Kelly is currently seeking an experienced R&D Analytical Technologist in Midland, Michigan! The Analytical Technologist will be providing support for the Technical Service and Development (TS&D) group in plastics analysis, focusing within a single or across multiple laboratories as needed.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform routine plastics physical testing and analysis, preparing plastic parts and using equipment such as Instron mechanical testing, melt flow rates, and notched izod impact testing
- Ensure the effective operation of analytical systems and the lab’s adherence to analytical work procedures, good lab practices, including housekeeping.
- Assure the quality of analytical data
- Effective delivery of timely, accurate analytical results to include:
- Calibrated and maintained equipment in 1604 laboratory according to schedule
- Data capture and management
- Sample and inventory management, including database maintenance, ordering, obtaining, transporting and shipping materials (plastics, non-hazardous materials, molded parts)
- Documented EH&S and Laboratories procedures
- Schedule and perform work according to the test requests
- Monitor analytical systems, evaluate validity of data
- Document, communicate, and archive analytical results, calibration and maintenance data
- Collaborate with others team members, testing expertise, and problem solving.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s degree preferred
- At least 1-2 years of related experience required
- Ability to work in a team environment
- High attention to detail
