Facilities Coordinator 
Plano, Texas

PART TIME – 20 HOURS PER WEEK
$25 – $28/hr

Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Facilities Coordinator to join our team as a Maintenance Lead in Plano, Texas. This role involves the oversight of scheduling, coordination, and execution of maintenance activities to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities, equipment, and machinery. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to work closely with maintenance teams, contractors, and vendors to plan and manage both preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, track work orders, manage resources, and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and coordinate preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance tasks for equipment, machinery, and facilities.

  • Manage and prioritize maintenance work orders, ensuring proper documentation and communication with relevant departments.

  • Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and vendors to ensure the timely completion of maintenance tasks.

  • Monitor and update maintenance schedules based on priority, equipment availability, and team capacity.

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.

  • Track and report on maintenance costs, including labor, parts, and contractor fees, and assist in budget management.

  • Analyze equipment performance data to identify recurring issues and recommend improvements for reliability and efficiency.

  • Coordinate contractor work, including obtaining quotes, scheduling, and ensuring safety and quality control.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; an associate’s degree or technical certification in a related field is preferred.

  • 3+ years of experience in maintenance coordination, facilities management, or related fields.

  • Thorough understanding of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems, or other relevant equipment used in labs and offices.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Proficiency in using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with vendors, contractors, and other departments.

  • Familiarity with OSHA or other regulatory standards related to maintenance and safety.

Ideal Candidate: 

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in facilities and maintenance management, demonstrated capability in overseeing maintenance activities, vendor management, and ensuring effective operation of facilities. Key skills include:

  • Proven expertise in facilities management, preventive maintenance, and work order coordination.

  • Successful track record in managing vendor and contractor relationships to maintain optimal building systems.

  • Strong leadership and collaborative skills, ensuring safety and efficiency in maintenance operations.
