Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician

Work 6-230, M-FR with some weekend work required
Temp to hire with a starting pay of $29-30/hr to increase to $34-38 upon permanent hire

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician will be based out of Houston, TX, and will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing equipment malfunctions, performing preventative maintenance, and supporting the overall production process.
Responsibilities
• Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs of production machinery and equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
• Perform light fabrication and welding as needed.
• Collaborate with the Multi-Site Maintenance Manager to plan and execute maintenance schedules.
• Utilize computerized maintenance management systems for work order management and documentation.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including equipment logs, repair reports, and parts inventory.
• Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
• Assist in equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications as needed.
• Monitor and manage the inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment hardware to minimize cost.
• Provide on-call support for emergency repairs during off-hours
• Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or trade certification preferred.
• Minimum of five years of experience in a similar maintenance role in a production or industrial manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting equipment manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Experience with hand and power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance-related tools.
• Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced and flexible production environment.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent standing, bending, and kneeling.
• Comfortable working in various environmental conditions, including hot and cold temperatures.
• Electrical certification or equivalent years of experience preferred
