Quality Control Technician needed in Lockport, Illinois
1st Shift – Monday – Friday, 8am – 4:30pm
$22/hr
Position Summary:
This position is Production department focused and will be reporting to the Operations Manager.
The Quality Control Technician will inspect Final Product, Subassemblies, Cables and other Accessories.
What You’ll Do:
- Following the Shipment Inspection Checklist, conduct quality assessment measures of all products ready to be shipped, including product returns from customers.
- Resolve quality-related issues while adhering to deadlines.
- Prepare documentation of the inspection process, which includes detailed reports and performance records.
- Accurate and timely inspection/calibration of our monitoring and measuring devices.
- Recommend improvement measures to the production process to ensure quality control standards are met.
- Manage the monitoring, measurement, and review of internal processes, especially those that affect the quality of the organization’s products.
- Assist in the preparation of periodic quality meetings.
- Technician will also be cross trained in other areas, including, but not limited to: Shipping/Receiving and Inventory Control.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need:
- Ability to use calipers and micrometers and other measuring devices.
- Ability to read and understand work instructions, schematics, bills of material, diagrams, and engineering change orders.
- ISO 9001:2015 experience is a plus.
- Ability to work OT on an as-needed basis to meet company goals.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow verbal instructions as well as written procedures.
- Must possess solid judgement and decision-making skills.
- Must be well organized and be able to multi-task.
- Ability to communicate professionally both orally and in written form.
- Ability to work well with others and must be a conscientious and cooperative team player.
- Ability to meet quality expectations and follow safety guidelines.
What You’ll Bring:
- High school diploma, GED and/or technical diploma and/or military technical training.
- 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control
Physical Requirements:
- Good vision.
- Ability to work in a standing position for long periods, up to 8 hours.
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift 20 pounds.
