Location: Ridgeland, SC
Pay: $16 – $19 per hour
Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:30 am – 4:30 pm
Safety Requirement: Safety Shoes & Glasses required
Job Description:
Summary:
The Warehouse Assistant is responsible for order filing, receiving inventory, preparing, and shipping orders, alongside miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Exhibit, recruit, and coach associates consistent with Core Behaviors.
- Promote a culture of safety.
- Verify incoming shipments against packing slips.
- Sort, maintain, and stage products accurately.
- Reject damaged goods and forward them to Purchasing for processing.
- Properly label and put away stock.
- Receive purchase orders, pick products, and package for shipping.
- Verify quantities, destinations, and routing of items to be shipped against picking ticket.
- Log non-conforming products and verify returned goods.
- Conduct cycle counts of inventory and coordinate with Purchasing to correct discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records and a clean workspace.
- Perform technical tasks using trade or computer hardware and software, including spreadsheets, databases, and data processing.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Adhere to ISO processes and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Proficient with basic computer operations (P21, Clippership, World Ship).
- Solid basic mathematical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Punctual with a sense of urgency.
- Proficient at following ISO procedures.
- Basic product knowledge.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of previous experience required.
- Preferably up to 2 years of experience in a similar position, including inventory and receiving experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Forklift Certified.
Work Environment:
- Regular requirement to speak and understand English, stand, walk, sit, and manipulate objects or controls; reach with hands and arms.
- Good working conditions with occasional exposure to elements.
- Frequently lifts and/or moves up to 75 pounds.
- Requires close vision and clear focus.
PPE Required:
- Eye protection, hearing protection, foot protection with metatarsal guard, puncture-proof gloves.
