Kelly® Science & Clinical is excited to announce a position with our Global Leading Food client for a Quality Assurance Manager.

  • Pay Range: $90,000 DOE

  • San Fernando Area.

Overview

The QA Manager will oversee all quality control operations to ensure raw materials, in-process, and finished products meet company, customer, and regulatory standards. This role includes managing QC personnel, conducting audits, and leading initiatives on food safety, sanitation, and process improvements. The manager will also act as the site’s HACCP Coordinator and SQF Practitioner.


Key Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, and manage QC staff with clear expectations and performance reviews; review test results and approve or reject raw materials and finished products


  • Maintain, calibrate, and ensure documentation for QC lab equipment; prepare Certificates of Analysis and monitor batch records


  • Conduct monthly GMP, glass, and hard plastic audits; support production with quality improvements and sanitation verification


  • Ensure compliance with cGMPs, allergen control, food safety, and labeling regulations; lead or assist with internal audits and regulatory inspections


  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints related to product quality


  • Maintain and implement HACCP and SQF systems; serve as backup SQF Practitioner


Requirements

  • B.A. or B.S. in a scientific discipline with 3–5 years of supervisory experience in food industry QC


  • HACCP and SQF Practitioner certification (or ability to obtain), PCQI certification (or ability to obtain)


  • Familiarity with lab equipment, food testing methods, and ability to evaluate taste, aroma, and appearance of food products


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English


  • Must be able to report to the San Fernando facility as needed
