Document Control Assistant – Temporary Document Scanning Project
Location: State Library Storage Facility, Hartford, CT
Duration: 2–3 months (Temporary Assignment)
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM (6–6.5 hours/day)
Pay Rate: $16.35 per hour
About the Role
The State Library Storage Facility in Hartford is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Document Control Assistant to support a temporary document digitization project. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to an important preservation effort, working with a dedicated team in a structured and organized environment.
Key Responsibilities

Safely transport boxes of documents to assigned workstations

Carefully handle and prepare documents for scanning

Operate scanning equipment to digitize documents with clarity and accuracy

Upload scanned files to a designated online repository

Maintain cleanliness and organization of your workstation

Follow all handling, safety, and data integrity protocols
Qualifications

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy

Ability to lift and move boxes weighing up to 25 pounds

Basic computer literacy and comfort using scanning equipment/software

Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Dependability, punctuality, and ability to meet project deadlines

Prior experience in a similar environment is a plus, but not required
