Mechanical Designer – Innovative Medical Devices

Our client is seeking a talented and motivated Mechanical Designer to join our growing team in Mentor, OH. In this role, you’ll play a crucial part in developing cutting-edge medical devices that improve patient lives.
What you’ll do:
- Design and Detail: You’ll be responsible for the design, detail drafting, and documentation of complex electromechanical products, working collaboratively with Senior Designers and Engineers on both minor and major projects.
- Problem-Solving: Utilize your expertise to identify and resolve design challenges in support of new product development.
- Teamwork and Leadership: Coordinate and guide supporting drafters, ensuring accurate and complete documentation for your designs while fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Design Optimization: Strive for innovative solutions by designing assemblies for best manufacturing processes and ensuring code compliance (UL, ASME, OSHA, NFPA, etc.).
- Testing and Evaluation: Contribute to the evaluation of prototypes and pre-production products through testing and assist in preparing test summaries.
What you’ll need:
- Proficient in: Creo Parametric, AutoCAD, and Windchill PLM.
- Passion for: Medical device design and a drive to make a positive impact.
- Ability to: Collaborate effectively, solve problems creatively, and work independently.
This is a 10+ month contract opportunity with the possibility of extension.
