Job details
Kelly Services is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping/Receiving Material Handler to support our warehouse operations. This position involves receiving, sorting, loading, and unloading materials, as well as maintaining an organized and efficient warehouse environment.
Hours: Monday-Thursday 7am-5:30pm
Pay: $18.00 hr.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive materials from vendors, customers, or other warehouses accurately and promptly.
- Verify incoming shipments against packing lists; inspect for damage and report discrepancies.
- Label materials and place them in designated storage areas in an orderly manner.
- Pick, assemble, and package customer orders; verify order accuracy.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
- Perform routine cycle counts and assist with inventory control.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Regularly inspect and maintain warehouse equipment.
Required Competencies
- Ability to identify products by size, type, style, color, or product code
- Strong reading skills; able to match items with shipping tickets
- Basic math and reasoning skills
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Familiarity with warehouse layout and operations
- Certification in power-truck/forklift equipment
Required Qualifications
- Prior warehouse experience
- Valid forklift driver’s license and experience operating a forklift/tow motor
- Inventory control experience
- Experience with truck loading and unloading
Physical Requirements
- Light to moderate physical effort
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively
- Able to stand for up to 10 hours per shift
- Work in a non-climate-controlled environment
Working Conditions
- Must pass a background check and drug screening
- May work alone or in a team setting
- May be required to work in an outdoor or isolated area
- Must maintain productivity and safety standards with minimal supervision
