Job Title: Machine Operator I (1st Shift)
Location: Attleboro, MA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay Rate: $17.50/hr

Position Summary:
We are seeking reliable and safety-focused Machine Operators to join our 1st shift team. In this role, you will operate machinery used in the production of high-precision parts. You’ll be responsible for maintaining quality, efficiency, and safety while producing components that meet rigorous specifications. You may operate more than one machine simultaneously and participate in continuous improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities:

Operate and monitor production machines and equipment to ensure proper function and output.

Perform machine setups, adjustments, and tool changes as needed.

Conduct in-process inspections using gauges and measurement tools to maintain part quality.

Interpret work instructions, blueprints, and technical documents.

Ensure adherence to safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Complete production and quality documentation accurately using paper and electronic systems.

Perform daily maintenance tasks including lubrication, cleaning, and reporting mechanical issues.

Assist with 5S and Kaizen initiatives for workspace efficiency and organization.

Collaborate with team members to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals.

Train and support other operators when necessary.

Lift and move materials up to 30 lbs (occasionally up to 40 lbs), and operate lift equipment as needed.
Qualifications:
Required:
-
At least 6 months of work or volunteer experience (manufacturing preferred)
-
Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to follow instructions
-
Ability to read and write in English
-
Competent in basic math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
-
Familiarity with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
-
Able to work independently under indirect supervision
Preferred:
-
1+ year of experience in machine setup and operation
-
Experience in a manufacturing environment
-
Knowledge of continuous improvement or Lean/Kaizen principles
Physical Requirements:
-
Must be able to stand for extended periods (entire shift)
-
Frequent walking, reaching, handling small parts, and using hand tools
-
Must be able to lift/move 30 lbs frequently and up to 40 lbs occasionally

Must have color vision and depth perception to read gauges and inspect parts

Ability to work 8–10 hour shifts and occasional Saturdays
Work Environment:
-
Manufacturing floor with exposure to mechanical equipment, noise, dust, and odors
-
Non-climate-controlled environment; may exceed 100°F during summer months
-
Use of appropriate PPE is required (will be provided)
