Packaging Engineer – REMOTE OPPORTUNITY
Kelly Engineering is supporting a leading manufacturer of consumer health and personal care products in their search for a Packaging Engineer to lead new product development across rigid blow-molded bottles and flexible wipe packaging.
This is a hands-on, remote role that blends technical packaging development, vendor collaboration, and production floor execution. We’re looking for someone with a passion for building scalable packaging solutions that meet ASTM/ISTA validation standards and thrive in a high-volume, GMP-regulated environment.
In This Role, You’ll:
- Lead the design and development of blow-molded plastic bottles, partnering with tooling vendors from concept to commercial launch
- Support flexible packaging projects, such as liquid wipe pouches, with a focus on material compatibility
- Conduct line trials and packaging optimization directly on the production floor
- Write and execute IQ/OQ/PQ validation protocols, including ASTM/ISTA and leak testing
- Create and manage packaging specifications and ensure accurate documentation
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, R&D, Quality, and Project Management teams
- Communicate directly with suppliers to troubleshoot, guide, and approve design adjustments
What We’re Looking For:
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Packaging, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Have at least 2 years of hands-on experience in packaging engineering, where you’ve successfully led projects from start to finish.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience specifically working with blow-molded rigid plastic bottles.
- Experience in industries like Consumer Goods, Cosmetics & Personal Care, Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices, or Food & Beverage
- Have a strong understanding of packaging validation processes, such as IQ/OQ/PQ protocols, as well as proficiency in leak and dimensional testing and familiarity with ASTM/ISTA testing standards.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, particularly in collaborating and coordinating with external vendors.
- Comfortable in both documentation and hands-on production setting
